The Edinburgh Business School MBA in Marketing

Duration & Content

The MBA programmes of the Edinburgh Business School now available in the region are offered in a variety of forms through Flexible Distance Learning with full support.

Students do not need to travel abroad at all. The Edinburgh Buiness School and its Approved learning Partner for the region iCon offer full academic and administrative support to students resident in the region.

Students  receive live tuition via our online system and personalised support. All iCon tutors are approved by the Edinburgh Business School to provide tutorial and pastoral support to its students.

Students sit their examinations locally. So for example in Bulgaria the University arranges for examinations in Sofia. The same applies to all countries where a student is resident. 

There are many intakes per year and students can start when it suits them best. The programme is available in English.

Availability of single Courses

Those interested in single courses/modules can choose to attend them without being enrolled at the full programme, and with the successful completion of these modules they are awarded a Certificate of Academic Achievement from the University! Moreover, by successfully completing a certain number of modules in their own pace, students can be awarded the Postgraduate Certificate with 3 modules, the Postgraduate Diploma with 6 modules and by completing 9 modules, acquire the full postgraduate Degree!


The program is aimed at professionals, so it is offered in a flexible format and students may decide to adjust the time of study according to their respective needs. The proposed study time is about 18 months but the programme can be completed in faster or slower pace.

The MBA in Marketing consists of 11 courses, 7 of which are core courses, and 4 electives. The core courses are:

  • People, Work & Organisations
  • Strategic Marketing
  • Economics for Business
  • Financial Decision Making
  • Delivering Successful Projects Management
  • Strategic Planning

Then students can choose their 4 electives from the following list:

  • Consumer Behavior
  • International Marketing
  • Marketing Channels
  • Marketing Communications
  • Marketing Insights
  • Negotiation
  • Principles of Retailing
  • Quantitative Methods
  • Sales Force Management
  • Services Marketing

Fees & Provisions

There is great flexibility in the payment of fees as students are able to choose how and when they wish to proceed with their payments. Payment of the fees can be made either for individual courses or groups of courses with a reduction in the total fees.
