Duration & Content

The MSc in Financial Management programme now available in Romania are offered in a variety of forms Flexible Distance Learning and Online with full support.

All programmes are offered via distance learning which means that students can study in Romania and do not need to travel to Edinburgh. iCon offers full academic and administrative support  to students resident in Romania.

Students receive live tuition via our online system as well as the links to videotaped sessions. All iCon tutors are approved by the Edinburgh Business School to provide tutorial and pastoral support to its students.

Exams take place in Romania, but students reserve the right to sit their examinations elsewhere if they wish. Students also have the right to continue their studies anywhere in the world and of course to study at their own pace!

There are many intakes per year and students can start when it suits them best.

 
Availability of single Modules

Those interested in single modules can choose to attend them without being enrolled in the full programme, and with the successful completion of these modules they are awarded a Certificate of Academic Achievement from the University! Moreover, by successfully completing a certain number of modules in their own pace, students can be awarded the Postgraduate Certificate with 3 modules, the Postgraduate Diploma with 6 modules and by completing 9 modules, acquire the full postgraduate Degree!

Modules

The program is aimed at professionals, so it is offered in a flexible format and students may decide to adjust the time of study according to their respective needs. The proposed study time is about 18 months but the programme can be completed in faster or slower pace. 

The MSc in Financial Management consists of 9 modules, 5 of which are core courses, and 4 electives. The core courses are:

    • Financial Decision Making
    • Credit Risk Management
    • Derivatives
    • Advance Financial Decision Making
    • Financial Risk Management

Then students can choose their 4 electives from the following list:

  • Corporate Governance
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Practical History of Financial Markets
  • Quantitative Methods
  • Strategic Planning
  • Economics for Business


Fees & Provisions

There is great flexibility in the payment of fees as students are able to choose how and when they wish to proceed with their payments. Payment of the fees can be made either for individual courses or groups of courses with a reduction to the total fees.
